          Queen Mother Moore (born Audley Moore; July 27, 1898 – May 2, 1997) was an African-Americancivil rights leader and Black nationalist (someone who fights for Black people to be thought of as an individual race) as well as being an activist for 70 years.[1]

          Her childhood was filled with racism and shaped her ideas for the future.[2] In the 1920s, she was involved in Marcus Garvey’s UNIA, which fought for the creation of organizations by and for the Black community.[3] In 1933, she turned to the Communist party because they were the only ones focused on her rights.
